Oh no! This is the only thought that comes to my mind; it is not a safe world for women to travel alone. Those of you who disagree will agree that at least, it would be easier, to travel with a male companion or another girl.
This is not an anti feminist take that women can’t travel independently, it’s just that it is rather unpleasant for them to do so. Many men presume that women traveling alone are available and easy and are looking for attention espcially from them
What are the problems girls are likely to face apart from lecherous looks?
At times are unpleasantly, groped. Ogling, wolf whistling, grabbing buttocks, pressing breasts, or wanting a glimpse of naked flesh. Almost akin to sexual assault, this is the kind of common treatment more single women travelers face.
They are more likely to be the targets of petty criminals, and have to take extra precautions when out at night.
They are just not taken seriously about what they might have to say vis-a-vis what a man might have to say.
It’s easier to give them con deals.
So if you want to travel alone you’ve got be really smart, some of these precautions might forearm you!
Try to dress local, wear the dress of the women of the country you are planning to visit.
Wearing a fake wedding ring is not a bad idea.
Using headphones is a good idea to do away with unwanted attention.
Since you are there to enjoy, you could learn more by respecting the customs and culture of the country you visit.
Read well about a country before visiting.
Try getting a well versed woman guide in that country if its possible.
Well I hope this all will make you enjoy your traveling more. If you have any other pointers do tell us about them!
