A lawsuit has been filed by city of Atlanta on March 29 in Fulton County Superior Court against several major Internet travel sites.
The city has sued the companies that are accumulating the core revenue source of the city that is the seven percent Atlanta occupancy tax, which is basically taken from customers, but forwarding only part of it and keeping the respite as profit.
Atlanta’s suit, also contain names Hotwire Inc., Orbitz and Pricline.com Inc. for similar actions done by the cities of Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Diego and Rome, Ga.
