Fijian Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase is baffled by Australian advisory advising their nationals not to travel in Fiji because of the present political instability in the country.

The prime minister claims that there is no threat in Fiji’s resorts areas. He is quoted to have said;

If the travel advice warns people about their travels to the capital, I can well understand that, But to cover the whole of Fiji is a little bit of a little bit over-reaction

Notably, earlier this month Australia had issued a travel alert for their citizens when countries military commander has warned Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase that his refusals to resign can flair up the condition at any time.
The Australia-Fiji Business Council believes it is a major jolt to the tourism industry in Fiji as 3,000 people have already cancelled flights to the country so far.

Fiji’s economy is largely dependant upon tourism but the recent incidents are generating fear among the travelers. I think instead of accusing the Australian advisory board first they have to make the conditions calm in the country.
