World Travel and Tourism Council, based in London said that the share of travel and tourism industry (15%) is expected to rise by 4 percent in next ten years. Some of the major developments in the world’s most tourism dependent region include construction of Hyatt Hotel which will have around 430 luxurious rooms, a fifty thousand square feet conference hall. Even the Air Arrivals are expected to rise by 5% with in this year.
A casino will be opened in St. Lucia Island by next New Year eve which will be equipped with 14 gaming tables and 350 slot machines. Construction work for Ocean’s Edge a $100 million hotel has also begun; it will be situated in island of St.Kitts.
On the west coast of North Caicos in the Turks & Caicos Islands, there will be a condo resort soon. For this venture The Wight Group of Schaumburg has joined hands with Toronto-based Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Inc.
China has even included 3 more Caribbean nations in the list of approved destination Status. China is expected to become world’s fourth largest resource of international travelers within next fifteen years. For supporting travel industry in Caribbean, Caribbean Tourism Organization has reamed up with Caribbean Hotel Association and Organization of American States.
