It was second time with in a week that 106 people along with 11 crew members have been affected from gastrointestinal illness, on board Royal Caribbean’s Freedomthe, the world’s largest cruise ship. The ship is now being thoroughly cleaned before its next voyage.
In November last, when the cruise was on its way to Caribbean, around 380 passengers were fell ill by norovirus on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom. The ship was held in port to get cleaned at that time too.
This time cruise authorities are taking the matter as serious and two extra doctors and 45 more cleaning employees will be aboard for its next voyage. Notably, more than 3,900 passengers will be coming on boardon its forthcoming cruise begining on Thursday.

According to the CDC (U.S. Centers for Disease Control), Norovirus viruses cause problems to stomach flu infection like diarrhea, vomiting and stomach cramps. Infected food or liquids, dirty surfaces or direct contact with someone who is infected are the some of the major causes of its spreading.
