
The Northwestern Hawaiian Islands in United States, is declared as a national monument of the country, by President George W. Bush.
It has the world’s largest aquatic wildlife sanctuary, consisting around seven thousand aquatic animal and plant species. Earlier, it was not open to the general public; only people with special permits were allowed to enter the refuge of the wildlife sanctuary.
The islands are also a home for millions of seabirds; it also has some rare species of animals which are exclusively found here and nowhere else like the Hawaiian Monk seal and the Hawaiian Green Sea turtle.
