According to an interesting feature published in the New York Times, which is written in such a beautiful manner that it has given me a reason to highlight the issue of the obese people in the flight, occupying travel companion’s seat.
This issue must be sounding funny to you but mind you people this is a serious issue, for which the airlines must do something for the passenger’s comfort concerns.
First of all I must say that those obese people should do something to check their waist lines. Apart from this, as, with many the obesity matter is not in their hands. So for those the airlines must do some thing. The seat occupancy thing not only matters the obese people but it is a real head ace for those sitting beside them, because they have to sacrifice with their comfortable postures.
Among the airline authority, already there are many opinions rose, like whether the plus size passenger should pay for the second seat or those passengers should pay for their extra kilos?
And from the passenger side the urge arising is to widen up the seating arrangement else keeping the armrest up will solve the matter?
So folks, now am leaving it on you and want to see what you people take on to this. Do come up with your opinions.

Is this problem relevant in India? I don’t think so. If it really is, then quote the percentage of passengers with such problems. India, where aviation industry is still in the nascent phase, there are scores of other problems being confronted by air passengers.
With several LCCs emerging in the Indian skies, domestic air travelers will have better air travel options. However, in terms of services, these LCCs will have to promise more.
The industry is evolving and many more things will emerge with time.
hi! Mallika,
ur point of view is very correct, u must have got nose for news that very good. But my dear friend let me clear u one thing that apart from India, in this world there are lots of other countries, where obesity problems are alarming, even in India also, although the ratio may be comparatively low but still…..That is why.
Moreover, as far as the quotes are concern I thing the link I have given of ‘New York Times’ would be more then enough. Please go though that.
I think there should be a new class in Air planes for the obese and there should be a different seating arrangement for them, that suits them...
i think this would be a better idea rather than asking them to pay extra...!
Jolly,
Your idea we entered, nice one……..
Hope the concern authorities are hearing ……..
Thanx Buddy!!!
