After the grounding of Fokker planes, operation of many flights in Pakistan, such as Lahore-Bahawalpur, Lahore-Dera Ghazi Khan, Islamabad-Chitral, Islamabad-Gilgit, Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan, Karachi-Pasni and Karachi-Ormara, have been cancelled for the time being, and travel on other routes where Boeing can be operated is feasibly going to be costly due to which the general public will be burdened in terms of fare hike.
The operation of Boeing was not feasible on the routes because of airports being small. The decision taken is supposed to benefit the national airline as it was being hit with a heavy loss of millions of rupees annually for operating the Fokker fleet.
