From 23 Jan 2007, new passport regulations will come into affect for all American travelers willing to travel outside the country by air and U.S. citizens are required to show the valid passport at customs. This applies to every destination across the world, including Canada, Mexico and the entire Caribbean. However, the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico is an exception, where passport is not required for U.S. citizens. So, if you are planning your upcoming vacation or quick weekend getaway, you must consider Puerto Rico.
A commonwealth of the United States, Puerto Rico is known for its beautiful beaches and friendly natives. While San Juan is one of the hot vacation destinations, several other cities in Puerto Rico are equally attractive and deserve not to be missed.
Branding Puerto Rico as a no-passport destination with an aggressive advertising campaign, the U.S. Virgin Islands has labeled itself “America’s Caribbean.”
Sources said that the initiative for easing the regulations of passport is to draw more tourists in the region as according to the U.S. Department of State, only 25% of U.S. citizens are having passports.
So, if you are looking for convenient and hassle-free holidays that allow you to escape from your hectic daily lives than Puerto Rico’s is the only destination that allows you to easily pack up, leave your hometowns and explore the beautiful island.
