Smoking is injurious for health but banning it can be really injurious as far as your profits are concerned. In an effort to make a step in this direction, the Regent seven seas speculated to toughen its smoking rules from this coming December. The bans haven’t been put yet but the company has already lost its $3 millions due to the cancellations it has received.
It was planning to curb smoking in cabins and on the balconies of the ships. The issue is coming up as there has been an increase in the number of fires on the board mostly due to smoking. The latest instance being a devastating fire on one of the ships of the Oceania Cruises. The cruises have started introducing zero-tolerance policies now. However, they are facing troubles with regards to the implementation of bans. Especially Europeans who are not used of restrictive smoking are calling for a good protest. On the other hand, non smokers are also complaining of the fact that the ships have not carved any stricter policies as yet.
