British travelers now seem to prefer health trips that range from spa or yoga retreats to plastic surgery breaks. As per the London Daily Mail report, British travelers spent $268 million on “health and wellness” trips last year.

Looking for a break from a consumer society, pressures of a culture of long working hours, people now seem to prefer health holidays. For many it is the cost differences that make them go in for operations abroad. Others are tired of the long waiting times in Britain.

Besides medical safaris also grant them the opportunity to enjoy the countries they visit. Countries like South Africa are promoting ‘medical safaris’ offering patients visits to wildlife enclosures after an operation.
