The making of Dubai’s first artificial island called- ‘Palm Island’ has inspired the inception of second one, which is stimulating the interest of visitors’ worldwide. Named as ‘The World’ this artificial island is being constructed likely to put on the shape of this world. The World islands project will cost $1.8 billion (USD). 
The projected is expected to get its final shape by 2008, consists of 250 to 300 smaller private artificial islands divided into four categories - private homes, estate homes, dream resorts, and community islands.
