Countdown has started to say ‘Sayonara’ to 2006 and to greet 2007. Many holidaymakers like me are intended to celebrate New Year gala somewhere far from the home. But where? Well, if you are really in a mood of fun and free until the end of Jan then you must be in Brazil. The carnival of Rio de Janeiro will kick off from January 17 to February 21.

Mass gathering of 200,000 people in one day is quite enough to prove its popularity. The carnival has many choices including world famous Samba parade. Brazilians save money for a year in order to participate to the carnival.

It seems that entire Rio de Janeiro is basking in colors. You too can be part of the Samba dance; all you need is to slip in Samba costumes and sweat it out on the streets of Rio on some real electrifying Samba beats. Hundreds of Samba schools are available in the town. About 5000 dancers sets the parade on fire, which runs to 800m for 90 minutes with loud Samba music.
