What seems to be their main deterrents?

• Websites that are frustrating and hard to open.
• In ability to make specific requests online such as asking for a particular type of room.
• Most of all concern about credit-card security since people are afraid to submit their credit-card/payment information over the Internet
Forrester Research report reads:

The growing fear of online identity theft presents a real and serious obstacle to continued online booking growth, as even travelers who have booked online in the past are now afraid to do so.

Many people also feel that by actually speaking to a person they will be able to get better bargains, even though that might not be true.
